Ceramic riser pipes enable the conveying of melts or chemical substances. The main area of application to date has been the conveying of aluminum or non-ferrous melts in aluminum foundry technology by means of silicon nitride riser tubes. These have a particularly long service life due to their high strength, high-temperature and thermal shock resistance, and advantageous wetting properties. However, riser pipes can also be made of silicon carbide for conveying corrosive media.
