QSIL SE, a leading manufacturer of high-temperature sintering materials such as quartz, ceramics and refractory metals, today announced the sale of its Ilmenau-based subsidiary QSIL GmbH Quarzschmelze Ilmenau to SCHOTT AG, Mainz, Germany.
The transaction is expected to close in early 2025, subject to approval by the relevant authorities. Following approval, SCHOTT will take over all employees and the business activities of QSIL GmbH Quarzschmelze Ilmenau, while ensuring the continuity of production and services in the known quality.
SCHOTT is a foundation company and, like QSIL, a pioneer in high-tech materials. At the same time, the company attaches great importance to top quality and innovative solutions, which are developed in close cooperation with customers and partners. With over 140 years of expertise in specialty glass and glass-ceramics, SCHOTT serves a wide range of industries with its portfolio and focuses on the semiconductor industry as an important growth market. We are therefore convinced that this step will be of great benefit to our customers, employees and partners.
Through this strategic realignment, QSIL will focus on the further development and expansion of the Ceramics and Refractory Metals business units in order to strengthen its market position in these segments globally.
We are convinced that this transaction will bring tangible benefits to all customers, employees and partners.
We would like to thank you for your trust and loyalty over the past years and look forward to this new phase in our company’s development.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
